Casa penon

The customers are 2 families. For one of the families the architect had done remodeling jobs, one family had 2 and the other 3 teenagers children respectively.

The 2 families basically wanted a house where they could share, with spacious areas, a "good" pool, and a shared budget.
The owners are young couples and wanted a modern house with open spaces.

Architectural concept of the project

The sensuality of the solid lines, large windows, sliding doors, metal structures, which generates large spans and generous ruffles, finishes without unnecessary frills and the white color on floors, walls and ceilings highlight the basic concepts that are evident in this work;
• The integration of nature (wind, light, water, vegetation) as elements that bring us closer to our essence.
• Geometry and proportion, understood as the contribution of man to the landscape through the rationalization of forms.

Through a folded plane that serves as a continuous structure and envelope between natural and artificial, where floors, walls and ceilings form a unit, develops a housing program, with high space utilization, ventilated, illuminated and free of distracting elements that seek to create a moment of comfort and tranquility in the user, with each space integrating nature through their doors, windows, wherein the cover as the final element of the plane that cast a shadow in the house and essential part of its function of covering the outside stairs, makes its own proportions and becomes a sculptural element.

What is the area of the house, how high is, how is the distribution of spaces and which environments were created.

In a plot of 800m2, and a built area of 513m2, 139m2 and 276m2 of parking lots the green areas define the program in 3 basic areas that independently interconnect through its corridors and balconies, a private area, where the bedrooms are located on the second level, a social area, where the living room, swimming pool, kiosk and kitchen, the latter, though his character is integrating services and is part of the social area, and a service area where there are baths, laundry, storage and a guest bedroom, the latter area, by their nature, are 2 elements "closed" creating a balance between full vacuum.

What kind of materials and finishes were used in the project (on floors, walls, divisions, carpentry, in bathrooms, kitchen, windows, etc.).

In order to generate the cover blown lights and spacious social area was decided by a metal frame and lightweight materials.
The beds, bedside tables, sinks, and closets in masonry for easy maintenance.
The doors are sliding windows with aluminum frame in the case of the social area are hidden among a niche for integrating interior and exterior.
The white kitchen and simple lines retains the essence of the house, use polyurethane paint is white and black marble countertops contrast all.
The floors throughout the home are paint in with epoxy and the walls sustain the same color using white paint .
In the bathrooms were used float mirrors without frames or ornaments and opt for a simple tap. In the house are not used unnecessary items, meaning that all the elements fulfill a function, the house itself with its basic elements and define functional design.

Interior architectural elements to highlight.

The kitchen is the element that gives visual culmination of the social area. The island marble creates "dependency" but in turn includes the dining area.
The expansion in masonry were performed on the first floor provide ventilation and natural light to the area of services.

What was the proposed decorative.
The idea of white throughout the house is to serve as a canvas for decorating bedrooms and furniture, and it was understood by the owners who, with their taste use bright and warm colors, without excessive decoration. The firm responsible for the design of the furniture and dining room set off the initial order, adding color to the home through its furnishings.

VILLA SSK BY TAKESHI HIROBE ARCHITECTS

Location: Chiba, Japan

Structural Engineer: Akira Ouchi /S FORM

Area: 105.05 sqm

Year: 2012

The location for this project was adjacent to the calm and tranquil waters of Tokyo Bay. When we first visited the site, we were immediately overwhelmed by the presence of the ocean.

Soon, however, we became attuned to the subtle cues coming from the surroundings, such as the movements of the sun, the flow of the wind, the scent of the tide, the stirrings of the plants, and the presence of the rocky mountain.

We were particularly impressed by the sea and the soaring verticality of the sky overhead, as well as the rocky mountain on the opposite side and the vegetation growing on them. For this reason, we decided to design a building that would serve to connect these mountains to the imposing expanse of the ocean.

The client requested a comfortable, generously proportioned living, dining and kitchen area, a bathroom overlooking the ocean, a guest room, and a spare room that could be used to display his beloved car.

The portion of the house encircled by the central area, guest room and spare room was turned into a tiled central courtyard where dogs can play. The courtyard also serves as an outdoor living room where large numbers of guests can gather and mingle.

Water can also flow into the courtyard to create a basin that reflects the subtle nuances of the surrounding light and wind. Timber panel wall-building and timber space trusses were used to create a structure that connects the ocean-facing side and mountain-facing sides of the house.

Although the trusses themselves occupy a wide space, gaps have been left in between the different materials. By angling the walls obliquely in accordance with the necessary spacing and throat gaps required for the truss structure, we were able to eliminate a certain oppressiveness from the interior.

Architecture ought to be rooted in the place it occupies. The architectural form of this building somehow emerged during the long process of analyzing and studying the location.

Although the design process was supposed to have entailed a frantic accumulation of decision-making and choosing between possible options, the finished building gives one the strange, lingering impression of having been constructed according to some law or other.

By combining rigid timber panel wall-building (a type of laminated veneer lumber) and truss arches, we were able to create a tunnel-shaped space with almost no right-angled walls despite the wide span of the building. Description of Architect.

Warm and Family Friendly Home with Sustainable Features in Venice

The Appleton Living project envisioned by Minarc is a modern addition to the town of Venice, Italy. Especially developed for a family with children, the residence takes advantage of the many outdoor spaces which make up the property: swimming pool, outdoor dinning, barbeque area and play court. Each of the interiors is connected to one of these leisure spaces, either through sliding glass doors or massive windows. The project’s orientation was thought out to maximize passive solar design and natural ventilation.

Organic materials were employed throughout the design: stone, steal and wood make the place inviting and family-friendly: “The entry living room has glass to both sides to further connect the indoors and outdoors. Floor and ceiling materials connected in an unobtrusive and whimsical manner to increase floor plan flow and space. Magnetic chalkboard sliders in the play area and paperboard sliders in the kids’ rooms transform the house itself into a medium for children’s artistic expression

A Fluid Living Space Wrapped in Grass: The Auto-Family House

As the cars have nowadays a special status, being no longer a fad but a necessity, the KWK Promes from Poland imagined a residential project that perfectly emphasises the idea that this mean of transportation is fully integrated in our lives. To be more specific, the Auto-Family House, which is about to be completed, breaks the lines of traditional design and brings a fresh air of innovation, unveiling a house that accommodates a garage and a large driveway underneath the living space. The residence consists of two different segments, one of them being different from everything you’ve ever imagined.

This single-family house is nothing like a normal house. The lower part of the dwelling area is completely reserved for cars and in order to entry the house you need to cross the driveway. What’s really fascinating about the Auto-Family House is that one of the roofs, is fully covered in grass. The back of the house is smoothly increasing in hight, following the nature’s rounded shapes. The green turf, rich in soft curvaceous lines, remind us of the hobbit houses or in a more contemporary approach, of the beautiful and dreamy golf courses. The client’s wish was to achieve a fluid space, erasing the lines of conventional. This output exceeded expectations: a magnificent all in one house and garage, with a stunning sublime design.
